Art Dyer, Pastor

Art Dyer is the founding pastor of Grace Covenant. He grew up in a Midwestern town not too different than Columbia. He says the three biggest factors in his childhood were athletics, music and church. He turned down an athletic scholarship and an offer to go “big time” in music to go into ministry. "Having grown up in a fundamentalist denomination that emphasized divine healing," Art says, "God must have a sense of humor, because I now work as a staff chaplain for University of Missouri Health Care."

Art, and his wife, Linda, moved to Columbia twenty years ago. He adds, "This is really cool, because we first met in Columbia when I was a junior in high school (wearing my letter jacket, of course) and she was just 13. You'll have to ask her to tell you the story."
